I read this recently in a How TO Magazine. If you make a weak solution from clorox and water, and wipe both the outside and inside with it, it will kill some of the bacteria that causes your pumpkins to rot. After you have cut them, made faces, etc. if you rub the cut edges with plain vaseline, that will seal them from air, etc.

Memorial for Lee Jondahl at Veterans Park
August 7, 2011 from 3pm to 5pm
On Sunday August 7 at 3:00 PM, there will be a Memorial Service for Lee Jondahl held at Veterans Park , next to Southside School. Lee and Mary Lee worked tirelessly to book bands for the Music in the Park, keep the flower pots filled and watered, cleaned the area before the concert, and applied and received grants to pay for the bands. THe tree and the marker are installed in the park. They are near the entrance to Locust Street, close to the sidewalk, Check them out.
